What's wrong with our header?! Why can't I see anything?!?!
There's nothing wrong with our header. The problem resides between the keyboard and the chair. Be a bit more adventurous and put your mouse over the empty space (if you don't already know what "hover" means). I'm only presuming it works for Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc., otherwise I'm so sorry that you have to miss out on such great effects.
Why do we need this stupid, outdated page when we already have Facebook?
1. How many classes do you know have such cool webpages all to themselves? (I'm sorry, chauvinism taking over). Look, we even have to SHARE Facebook with millions of other users who have their own Groups. We're not exclusive/different/outstanding anymore. Aaand...it's fun to play with cool stuff like javascript/flash/etc., which Facebook lacks, since we can't even customise our own group page there. But see, we have this page because we're awesome Batai-ans. =D
2. GheeK, Gwen and Joel are paranoid of Facebook because pedophilic psychopaths might stalk them from there.
3. We need a global platform to mediate our radical ideologies to the rest of the world, since non-Bataians cannot view our Facebook group page. If we're going to make a change, who's going to see/notice/google us?
4. Some people don't check out the HQ regularly because they're "bored of Facebook".
5. We're not waiting for the other classes to create their page. We have one before them because we're not followers. We're 5 Batai '11 and we're awesome trailblazers. (Please forgive extensive display of chauvinism)
6. Everything in Facebook has a word limit, which might be a problem for Daniel, Tim, GheeK, Josephine, Shu Wen and I (I know because I've exceeded it multiple times). There aren't any word limits here. =D
Fine, but why, of all hosting platforms, do you choose Blogger?!! Isn't it like the lousiest of all?
Admittedly, moderating might be slightly more troublesome, but Blogger offers the most flexible HTML customization and you can do almost anything with the HTML. For example, most people would choose WordPress because Blogger doesn't have comments on the same page as the post. But because we're awesome and different (and thanks to the miracles of tweaking), our page is different from everyone else and comments CAN appear on the same page as the post itself. *Applause* You can even add a forum to blogger, which is what I'm gonna try soon, depending on circumstances. For those of you unfamiliar with this alien term "Forum", it is, very simply, a place to ease communication....and it looks like your Facebook wall, except with more lines and boxes.
Our page is ugly.
That's a bit crude, isn't it? But I concede, it's ugly for now...it won't be anymore sooner or later, so don't worry about that.
Why "batai11.blogspot.com" and not "5batai....."?
People refer to Form 5s as "the batch of year [whatever year they're leaving]", and it so happens that we're the batch of 2011. Therefore, "5 Batai 2011" is redundant, which is why "5" was left out of the URL. 11 is a nice number because it's easier to type compared to 2011. There!
Who's moderating this webpage?
Notice that we're not referring to this as our "blog", as "webpage" makes us sound more professional. I think. Moderators? I don't know. I'm volunteering because I can get more online escapades like this...I'm kidding. Anyone else wants to volunteer with me?
Where can I post my suggestions to improve this page?/ I have more questions.
1. Go back to our holy HQ.
2. Spam the moderators' FB walls.
3. Email the moderators.
4. Comment on this post (and be amazed when you see the comment form on this page itself).
What if this page dies a horrible death?
Then I'm afraid we'll just have to cremate it....No, seriously, why do you worry so much? It won't die, because this is a Bataian page!
